The tour continues
It's approaching Easter weekend and the west coast of Scotland is filling up with tourists. This week, we found first Oban and now Fort William basking in the sunshine and making the most of the people lucky enough to be on holiday.
Mark Sutherland-Fisher and I aren't on holiday of course. We're still doing our "Boswell & Johnsons" tour of the Highlands on behalf of Fusion.

Last night we met some really interesting local business people at the Moorings Hotel in Fort William (near Neptunes Staircase on the Caledonian Canal). We had an enjoyable discussion about how to take advantage of social media and online social networking for business, especially those in the remoter parts of the Highlands.
It was fascinating to learn how some of these businesses are actively using online services in really innovative ways - my thanks to those of you who took part.
One of the comments made about online social networking last night that struck a chord with me -
"It's a really anti-social way of being sociable".
What an interesting perspective! A warning to all of us perhaps, that as we try to expand our marketing reach, we need to be careful about how we use online social media and understand it for what it really is, not what we might be trying to make of it.
