Why?
Well, hotels are amongst the most exciting and rewarding
businesses you can run. At the same time, they can be panic attack
inducing, time consuming, money pits. It all depends on how your day
is going.
So I reckon there's going to be plenty to blog about. From an authors' point of view, that's important.
What will I be blogging about?
I
joined the industry twenty five years ago and apart from a five
year "sabbatical" spend doing something else (I reached the stage where
running other people's hotels wasn't doing it for me any more) I've been involved in it ever since. So,
there's twenty-five years worth of jaundiced and firmly held opinion
I'm just itching to share with anyone.
Seriously. If it can be
broken, I've broken it; if it can be screwed up I've screwed it up; if
it can be wasted I've wasted it. I've been involved in building some
nice businesses and I've lost a couple too. We all make mistakes, it's
how we learn. You'll find the pages of the website

with that of lots of people I've encountered over the years. Some of
it is free, lots of it is cheap. All of it is available for you. Don't
ever be stuck, don't ever be lost as you run your hotel business.Â
There's always someone who can help, advise or sort it out on your
behalf. If I can't do it - which is sometimes the case - I usually find someone who can.
